Happy First Day of Snow! Here's the latest news. Haynes Elementary The new Haynes Elementary playground opened in August! The new surfacing, structure, and swings seem to be a big hit. Dear Friends, As we race towards the end of the school year, I just wanted to give an update on everything going on with the playgrounds. Haynes Elementary We are set to break ground as soon as school lets out for the summer. The Sudbury Department of Public Works (DPW) along with the Sudbury Public Schools' maintenance team will be setting shovel to ground in late June. And, in July, Little Tikes will be delivering and installing our new structures and surfacing. We are also grateful and excited that several Boy Scouts have stepped up to volunteer to help with painting, digging, and building to bring the finishing touches to the space. Noyes Elementary Funding for the Noyes Elementary project was secured at May Town Meeting. We have $415,000 for the project - $250,000 from Community Preservation Act funds, and $165,000 from Free Cash. Thank you to everyone who came to Town Meeting to vote! Grants We could not be more excited to announce that SMILE Mass / PlaySudbury were granted $100,000 from the Cummings Foundation as part of their "$100K for 100" grant program!!!! The Cummings Foundation is an amazing organization dedicated to giving back to the communities where they operate. There is a Cummings Property on North Road in Sudbury, so we are eligible. www.cummingsfoundation.org Fundraising The T-shirt sale went well. We raised about $500. There is thought about doing another T-Shirt sale, perhaps in the Fall, maybe during holiday season. If anyone has thoughts, please don't hesitate to reach out! The brick sales continue to come in. We're putting a deadline for Haynes Bricks at June 30. Please help us get the word out that if you want a brick at Haynes, you need to get your order in before the end of June. We are working with SMILE Mass on the "RUN INTO SUMMER" road race on June 13, 7pm, at Curtis Middle School. There is a Fun Run (1K), 5K, and 10K. When you sign up, please remember to choose the PlaySudbury option so that the funds raised will be directed towards the playgrounds. March 2018 Update

Haynes Playground Modernization Project Update
The Haynes Playground Planning Committee is pleased to announce that today is our official “Haynes PlaygroundLaunch.” In October, the town voted to begin a modernization project of the Haynes School Playground for the summer of 2018 to be ready to go for the first day of school in September 2018. The Playground Planning Committee is comprised of educators, parents, and administrators who are already working hard to research and redesign the HaynesPlayground with the Building and Facilities Department. The goal of this committee is to gather input from students, families, staff and community members in order to create an inclusive playground for a range of ages and abilities. We are hoping for broad community involvement in this project and look forward to sharing future updates with the community.
